How macs4days handles local data, sharing, hosting, and advertising.
Local processing
Text you paste is parsed in your browser. Vendor lookups use the database downloaded to your browser. macs4days does not send pasted text or extracted fields to an application server for processing, and does not include them in analytics requests. The site has no user accounts.
What is stored in your browser
macs4days stores your theme preference, advertising choice, database synchronization timestamps, cached application files, and the vendor database in your browser. You can remove this data through your browser settings. When Google's consent tool applies, Google stores your consent decision separately as an IAB TCF consent string.
Sharing results
When you choose Share, the results currently shown are encoded into the link's URL fragment in your browser. The original paste, unparsed lines, and vendor text are excluded. URL fragments are not sent to macs4days in normal HTTP requests, but the complete link is copied or sent through the application or service you choose, which may retain it. Anyone with the link can read its contents. Share links do not expire and cannot be revoked.
Hosting and analytics
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and provides aggregate Web Analytics. Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and secure the site. Its analytics beacon records page paths, referrers, and performance metrics. According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not collect personal data, use cookies or local storage, or fingerprint visitors.
Advertising and cookies
Google AdSense serves ads. Non-personalized ads are requested by default. Google may still use cookies or similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention. If you choose personalized ads, Google and its partners may use data to tailor and measure ads. Google's advertising code loads when a page shows an ad and, like other scripts allowed on the page, can access information displayed there. macs4days does not intentionally pass pasted text or result fields to Google, but cannot control or verify all processing performed by Google's code. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's certified consent tool also requests choices under IAB TCF v2.3 and controls whether ads can be served. The most restrictive applicable choice is used.
